Role summary
Weights & Biases is seeking a Director of Solutions Architecture to lead their team in [REGION]. This hybrid role combines SRE and Solutions Architecture expertise to ensure successful customer deployment and operation of W&B across various environments, accelerating ML adoption. The Director will own the strategy, operating model, and outcomes for the Solutions Architecture function, focusing on scaling technical delivery through automation, reference architectures, and partner enablement. This role requires significant technical depth in areas like Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and IaC, along with proven experience leading customer-facing technical organizations and managing managers. The Director will partner closely with Sales, Field Engineering, Support, and Product leadership, acting as an executive technical sponsor for strategic accounts and translating field feedback into product roadmap recommendations. The position offers a base salary range of $227,000 to $303,000 USD and a comprehensive benefits package.
What You'll Do:
Our Solutions Architecture team at Weights & Biases is a unique hybrid organization, combining the deep technical skills of Site Reliability Engineering with the consultative expertise of Solutions Architecture. We focus on ensuring customers can successfully deploy and operate W&B across cloud and on-prem environments while delivering a best-in-class experience that accelerates ML adoption at scale. The team is the last technical mile between a signed contract and a customer training models in production — and increasingly, the team that decides how fast that happens.
About the Role:
As Director, Solutions Architecture, you'll own the function across [REGION] — the team, the operating model, and the outcomes. You'll lead managers and senior individual contributors responsible for how W&B is deployed and operated in our largest and most complex accounts, across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem and air-gapped environments. Your central problem is leverage: how technical delivery scales without headcount scaling linearly with revenue, through coverage design, automation, reference architectures, partner enablement, and the management layer you build beneath you. You'll be a peer to Sales, Field Engineering, Support, and Product leadership — accountable alongside them for adoption, retention, and expansion in region — and you'll carry the clearest signal we have on customer reality into roadmap and platform investment. Externally, you'll serve as executive technical sponsor for strategic accounts and the face of W&B engineering credibility in [REGION].
