Role summary
CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Site Due Diligence Design Engineer to provide comprehensive technical evaluations of prospective data center sites. This role is crucial for the data center development pipeline, acting as the initial engineering representative in site selection. The engineer will assess infrastructure capacity, utility availability, building suitability, and land-use considerations, identifying technical risks and constraints. Responsibilities include leading the technical due diligence process from site introduction through lease execution, coordinating early design discussions, and preparing technical assessments for go/no-go recommendations. The role requires broad technical competency across electrical, mechanical, civil, and architectural fundamentals, strong understanding of utility infrastructure, and experience with data center design standards. Frequent travel to prospective sites is expected.
What You’ll Do:
The Senior Site Due Diligence Design Engineer plays a critical role in CoreWeave’s data center development pipeline by providing the first comprehensive technical evaluation of prospective sites. As the initial engineering representative in the site selection and due diligence process, this individual brings a broad, multidisciplinary perspective to determine how well a site can support CoreWeave’s requirements across all major design disciplines.
About the role:
This role serves as the technical bridge between the Site Selection team and the broader Design & Engineering organization. The engineer evaluates infrastructure capacity, utility availability, building suitability, land-use and entitlement considerations, and early design constraints that may affect viability, schedule, or cost. They work directly with data center providers, utilities, landlords, and external partners to clarify technical offerings, identify gaps or risks, and shape early concept direction.
From initial site introduction through lease execution or acquisition, the Site Selection Design Engineer leads the technical due diligence process - tracking progress, coordinating early design discussions, and ensuring CoreWeave’s requirements are understood from day one. Once a site is secured, the role delivers a structured, thorough handoff to the assigned Design Manager to support a smooth transition into full project design and execution.
This position demands strong engineering judgment, the ability to interpret information across multiple disciplines, and the confidence to represent CoreWeave’s technical priorities in early strategic conversations.
Frequent travel to prospective data center locations is required.
