Role summary
The Curtis Memorial Library seeks a Part-Time Patron Engagement Specialist to provide exceptional service to library patrons. This role involves patron engagement, technology assistance, and circulation services, acting as a primary point of contact. A strong understanding of library resources and services is essential. The position requires availability for Saturday shifts (12-4pm) and additional substitute hours, including evenings and weekends. Public library experience is strongly preferred. The Patron Engagement Specialist delivers an exceptional patron experience by providing welcoming, accurate, and responsive service to all library patrons. This position serves as a primary point of contact for patrons, combining patron engagement, technology assistance, and circulation services while directing patrons to appropriate staff and resources to ensure a positive and seamless library experience. A strong knowledge of Curtis Memorial Library’s resources, services, and collections is essential for effectively guiding patrons and supporting their information needs. This role advances the library’s mission by connecting people with ideas, resources, and one another.
The Curtis Memorial Library is looking for a part-time staff member to work each Saturday from 12-4pm. In addition, this position will include additional hours as a substitute as needed. Substitute positions require availability for evening and weekend hours.
Public library experience is strongly preferred. The pay rate is $22/hr. We currently offer a $5.00 per hour shift differential for Saturday shifts for part time and substitute staff.
A substitute staff member may be called to fill in long- or short-term during regular staff absences.
