What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools and EDR platforms to identify potential threats
• Support incident response efforts, including log collection and evidence preservation
• Conduct threat research and initial malware analysis to understand attack methods
• Manage and maintain security tools, ensuring proper functionality and security posture
• Assist with compliance activities and security assessments for various regulatory frameworks

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or incident response
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, threats, and vulnerabilities
• Experience with SIEM tools for log analysis and correlation
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation tasks

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Professional cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or CEH
• Experience in the energy sector or critical infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with threat hunting frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK
• Basic understanding of forensic analysis tools and techniques
• Knowledge of operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) security
