About The Role
We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. This critical role involves supporting the design, implementation, and oversight of cybersecurity compliance for a groundbreaking dual-environment software system integral to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program's radiological emergency response. The system uniquely combines a classified environment with a FedRAMP CUI moderate platform, enabling seamless real-time data sharing between emergency responders and civil authorities. The Cybersecurity Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and operational readiness of this complex system by collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing vendor compliance, and supporting deployment across global sites. Additionally, there are opportunities to develop low code/no code solutions to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities, contributing to national security and public safety efforts.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least six years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field. Proven expertise in Federal cybersecurity standards, including DOE and DOD requirements, as well as FedRAMP CUI moderate compliance, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience managing cybersecurity for software solutions involving both classified and unclassified systems, with a strong understanding of data-sharing practices involving civil authorities. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required to effectively coordinate with diverse stakeholders, enforce vendor compliance, and support complex system deployments. A background in emergency planning or response is highly desirable, along with the ability to adapt to evolving cybersecurity standards and operational environments.
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and software vendors to oversee cybersecurity compliance throughout the development lifecycle of the dual-environment system.
  • Drive efforts to obtain Authorization to Operate (ATO) for both classified and CUI moderate systems, ensuring adherence to national security and federal cybersecurity standards.
  • Enable secure data sharing capabilities between NNPP systems and civil authorities to support emergency response operations.
  • Provide oversight of software vendors to ensure compliance with complex cybersecurity and operational requirements.
  • Assist in the deployment and ongoing support of the system across globally distributed NNPP sites, ensuring operational integrity and security.
  • Develop and implement low code/no code solutions aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response systems within the program.
  • Monitor and respond to emerging cybersecurity threats, conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Document cybersecurity processes, compliance activities, and system configurations to support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
