About The Role
We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. This pivotal role involves supporting the design, implementation, and oversight of cybersecurity compliance for a groundbreaking dual-environment software system developed for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program's radiological emergency response. The system integrates classified and FedRAMP CUI moderate platforms to facilitate seamless, real-time data sharing between emergency responders and civil authorities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the security and operational integrity of this complex system, which is vital for national safety and emergency preparedness. Additionally, this position offers opportunities to develop low code/no code solutions to enhance emergency response capabilities, working across global sites and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to meet evolving cybersecurity standards and operational needs.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least six years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or related fields. Expertise in Federal cybersecurity standards, including DOE and DOD requirements, particularly in managing classified and FedRAMP CUI moderate compliance, is essential. Familiarity with data-sharing practices involving civil authorities and experience in managing cybersecurity requirements for software solutions involving both classified and unclassified systems are highly desirable. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are necessary to effectively coordinate with vendors, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening, in accordance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for overseeing cybersecurity compliance throughout the development lifecycle of a dual-environment system, ensuring adherence to federal and national security standards. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams and software vendors to facilitate the authorization to operate (ATO) for both classified and CUI moderate systems, enabling secure and efficient data sharing between NNPP and civil authorities for emergency response. The role involves providing oversight of vendor compliance with complex cybersecurity requirements, conducting risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies. The analyst will assist with deploying the system across multiple global sites, supporting ongoing operations, and maintaining system security. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing low code/no code solutions aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and documentation of compliance activities are key aspects of the responsibilities.
