I. Job Overview

The Director of Quality Control is responsible for developing and implementing the company's overall quality strategy, establishing a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring that products or services meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations throughout their entire lifecycle. This role requires achieving the optimal balance between quality, cost, and delivery, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

II. Core Responsibilities

Quality System Construction and Management

Establish, improve, and continuously optimize the quality management system (e.g., ISO 9001)

Develop quality policies, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Lead internal audits and external certification audits

Quality Control and Supervision

Coordinate incoming quality control (IQC), process quality control (IPQC), and finished product inspection (FQC/OQC)

Establish key quality control points (CTQ) and quality indicators (KPIs)

Monitor product consistency and stability

Supplier Quality Management (SQM)

Establish supplier evaluation and onboarding mechanisms

Lead supplier quality audits and performance evaluations

Drive supplier quality improvement (SCAR, 8D)

Quality Problem Analysis and Improvement

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of major quality problems

Drive continuous improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)

Establish corrective and preventive action (CAPA) mechanisms

Team Management and Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Lead the quality team (QC, QA, testing, etc.)

Collaborate with R&D, production, supply chain, sales, and other departments

Promote a company-wide quality culture

III. Job Requirements

🎓 Education Background: Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in engineering, materials science, quality management, or related fields.

Work Experience: 20-30 years of quality management experience; 5 years of team management experience; background in manufacturing/jewelry/luxury goods/precision manufacturing preferred.

Professional Skills: Familiar with quality systems (ISO 9001/ISO 14001, etc.); Proficient in quality tools: SPC (Statistical Process Control); FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis); 8D/5 Why/Fishbone; Familiar with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Soft Skills: Strategic thinking and systematic ability; Data analysis and problem-solving ability; Cross-departmental communication and influence; High stress tolerance and decision-making ability.

IV. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): First-pass yield (FPY); Customer complaint rate/return rate; Supplier quality pass rate; Cost of Quality (COQ); Audit pass rate (internal/external audit).

V. Reporting Relationship: Reporting to: COO/VP of Operations/ CEO's team includes: QC, QA, testing, supplier quality, etc.

Experience with quality systems in multiple countries (e.g., European and American markets)
