Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations or Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Quality Control is responsible for overseeing the company’s global quality assurance and product inspection systems across all production and fulfillment stages.
You will collaborate closely with manufacturing partners, sourcing teams, product development, and operations departments to ensure all products meet the company’s craftsmanship, compliance, and brand standards.
This role requires deep expertise in quality management, jewelry production processes, supplier auditing, and operational risk control within a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Quality Control Management
Develop and implement company-wide quality control strategies and inspection standards
Oversee product quality across sourcing, production, packaging, and fulfillment stages
Establish and maintain quality assurance procedures and reporting systems
Monitor production consistency and craftsmanship standards
Product Inspection & Compliance
Lead product inspection programs and quality audits
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and material specifications
Investigate product defects and implement corrective action plans
Maintain documentation related to quality assurance and compliance
Supplier & Manufacturing Oversight
Manage relationships with manufacturing partners and external suppliers
Conduct supplier evaluations and performance assessments
Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency
Ensure timely resolution of quality-related production issues
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with product development, sourcing, and operations teams
Support new product launches through quality validation processes
Partner with customer service teams to analyze return trends and customer feedback
Assist leadership in operational improvement initiatives
Process Optimization
Improve inspection workflows and operational efficiency
Implement digital quality tracking and reporting systems
Develop KPIs and quality performance metrics
Strengthen internal control procedures and risk management practices
Requirements
15+ years of experience in quality control, manufacturing operations, or product compliance
Prior experience in jewelry, luxury goods, fashion accessories, or consumer products preferred
Strong understanding of production quality standards and inspection methodologies
Experience managing supplier relationships and manufacturing audits
Knowledge of materials, craftsmanship evaluation, and product compliance requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to work in fast-paced and international production environments
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
High attention to detail, accountability, and execution ability
Experience with ERP, QA systems, or digital inspection platforms is a plus
