Role summary
Darkroom, a tech-enabled growth firm, is seeking a Chief of Staff to the CEO. This role involves working directly with the CEO on critical initiatives such as fundraising, team management, product pricing, and deal closing. Responsibilities include running the operating rhythm, managing the executive team, leading capital raising efforts, and tackling complex projects including M&A. The ideal candidate has 2-7 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or a fund, with strong financial modeling and deal execution skills. They should be sharp, learn fast, think clearly, and be able to earn trust and drive results with low ego and a high bar for performance. The position is full-time, onsite in New York City.
Who we are
Darkroom is a tech-enabled growth firm growing rapidly, with 150+ people and clients like Adobe, Amazon, Fanatics and Olipop. Shadow is the most advanced marketing agent in the world. We're building an operating system for marketing teams to change the entire advertising model. We're moving fast toward a total disruption of the advertising market, leading with services and innovating with software.
Location: New York, 40 Wall St. In person.
The job
You work directly with me on whatever matters most that week. Some weeks that's the fundraise. Some weeks it's fixing a broken team, pricing a new product, or closing a deal. You own it until it's done. Over time, this seat leads to running a line of the business yourself.
Run the operating rhythm: leadership, metrics, board and investor prep
Help me manage the executive team: set priorities, hold owners to their commitments, and surface problems before they reach me
Lead capital raising with me: model, data room, narrative, investor pipeline
Take on the hardest projects in the company, start to finish, including M&A and Shadow
Be my second brain: decide what needs me, and handle what doesn't
Make the company faster with AI, starting with your own work
You
Unusually sharp. You learn fast and think clearly on paper
2 to 7 years in investment banking, consulting, or a fund, where you've lived in models and closed real deals
Early in your career, hungry, and not yet set in big-company habits
You can earn the trust of senior leaders and push them without a title doing it for you
You finish things nobody asked you to finish
Low ego, high bar

Health & Wellness: Company-sponsored medical, dental and vision coverage.
Finances and retirement: A 401(k) with company match and profit-sharing opportunities.
