David, a high-protein food brand led by the former CEO of RXBAR, seeks a Retail Marketing Manager to own its retail media strategy and investment. This role partners with the Retail team to shape brand presence across various retail channels and partners like Walmart, Target, and Kroger. Responsibilities include developing retailer-specific marketing plans, managing media budgets and performance analysis, supporting new product launches and activations, and coordinating with agencies and internal teams. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of marketing experience in CPG or a related high-growth consumer business, strong analytical and project management skills, and comfort with retail media networks.

Company:
David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

This is a rare opportunity to join a breakout food brand at a pivotal stage of growth. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR, David is working to become the leading consumer food brand focused on high-protein foods in North America and beyond.

Role:

The Retail Marketing Manager will own David’s retail media strategy and investment while serving as the primary marketing partner to our Retail team, helping shape how David shows up across our retail partners and driving growth through retailer-specific marketing programs and activations.

This role sits within the Marketing team and works closely with Retail, Growth, Creative, and external agency partners. You will support David’s presence across mass, grocery, club, specialty, convenience, and delivery channels, working with partners including Walmart, Target, Kroger, Costco, and other leading national and regional retailers.

This is a role for someone who can translate David’s brand and product strategy into retailer-specific plans, support new launches and key customer moments, manage retail media investment, and continuously improve how David shows up across each retail partner.

Responsibilities:

Retail Marketing Strategy & Sales Support

  • Partner closely with our Retail team to develop annual and quarterly marketing plans for David’s key retail partners
  • Translate national brand campaigns, product launches, and company priorities into retailer-specific programs that support sell-in and sell-through
  • Support Retail with the marketing plans, materials, and programs needed for retailer meetings, launches, promotions, and key customer moments
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen how David shows up across in-store, retailer.com, delivery platforms, retail media, and other shopper touchpoints
  • Build account-specific plans that reflect retailer priorities while maintaining a consistent and distinctive David brand

Retail Media & Performance

  • Own retail media strategy and investment across platforms including Walmart Connect, Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, and other retailer media networks
  • Manage campaign budgets, pacing, targeting, and performance in partnership with agencies and internal teams
  • Establish clear objectives and measurement frameworks across ROAS, incrementality, new-to-brand acquisition, and retail sales impact
  • Analyze performance across retailers, products, campaigns, and tactics to determine where David should increase, reduce, or reallocate investment
  • Continuously test new platforms, placements, audiences, and tactics to identify scalable sources of growth

Retail Launches & Activation

  • Support the Retail team on new retailer launches, new product launches, seasonal programs, and major promotional moments
  • Develop marketing support for key retail initiatives across retail media, retailer.com, in-store activation, sampling, promotions, and David-owned channels
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure retail marketing deliverables are executed accurately and on time
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for retailer-funded marketing, co-marketing programs, events, sampling, and other customer-specific activations

Agency, Budget & Cross-Functional Management

  • Own retail marketing budgets and forecasts, ensuring spending is aligned with business priorities and expected returns
  • Build clear reporting and operating rhythms that give Marketing and Retail visibility into upcoming activity, spend, performance, and key decisions
  • Manage David’s retail marketing agencies and external partners, setting priorities, reviewing work, and holding partners accountable for performance
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing, retail, e-commerce, or a related role, ideally within CPG, food & beverage, or another high-growth consumer business.
  • Nice to have: Hands-on familiarity with retail media networks such as Walmart Connect, Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, or similar platforms, or general experience working with major retailers
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort evaluating marketing performance, budgets, media efficiency, and retail sales data
  • Ability to move between strategy and execution, from building an annual retailer plan to reviewing campaign performance or solving an execution issue
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex launches and campaigns across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work effectively with Sales, Creative, Finance, agencies, and retailer partners
  • High sense of ownership and attention to detail, with a willingness to get into the weeds and solve problems directly
  • This is a full-time role.
    • Salary $130,000 - $160,000, inclusive of cash bonus based on attainment of company targets
    • Company equity opportunity
    • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance
    • 401(k) with 4% match
    • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses
    • Substantial and required PTO
  • We work in the office 5 days per week in New York City - when culture lines up, it is fun to be in the office together.
