Role summary
deciBel Research seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL, to analyze user requirements and system architectures, develop specifications, and lead design and development. The role involves guiding users, conducting feasibility studies, providing technical leadership for integration, and incorporating new systems into operations. Responsibilities include developing technical and system architecture documentation, planning system development and implementation, and interacting with Product Teams. The candidate will hold ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of Systems Engineering deliverables. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 15 years of experience are required, along with strong communication skills and experience in MBSE, CAMEO, DOORS, and requirements management.
deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Position Description:
The successful candidate will analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develop technical documentation. Develop system Architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Product Team regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations. Hold ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field
Experience Requirements:
- 15 years of experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with MBSE- CAMEO, DOORS, etc.
- Requirements management / decomposition / maturity
Special Skills Desired:
- Experience in the use of Atlassian tools
- Automated CI/CD Pipeline configuration experience, including setup, scripting, configuration and maintenance
- Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance required
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Experience with safety critical and nuclear critical software development (DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330, etc.)
- Familiarity with a structured process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking and building release practices required
- Experience with Git products
