Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior DevOps Engineer located in Alexandria, VA, with partial remote work permitted.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and provide technical leadership to the DevOps team. This role requires immediate proficiency in AKS and Azure.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing automatic branch-based environments
- Deploying a Zero Trust framework for sensitive resources
- Building an ArgoCD promotion pipeline
- Implementing a disaster recovery solution
- Mentoring peers and guiding architectural decisions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures
The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support, maintain, and enhance our technology stack, streamline deployment workflows, and ensure compliance with security standards such as NIST SP 800-171.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Azure services (AKS experience is required)
- Proficiency in designing and writing Terraform deployments
- Proficiency in Kubernetes system design and deployment
- Proficiency in secure network design and configuration
- Experience with ArgoCD and Kustomize for managing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience configuring observability tools (e.g. Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps or a similar role, with a strong focus on automation and infrastructure as code
- Must be a U.S. Citizen; active or prior security clearance preferred; clearance eligibility required
Desired Experience
- Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred) Experience in a growth phase startup environment
- Experience implementing a Zero Trust model or other network hardening tasks
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking concepts Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience in disaster response or public safety technology is a plus
Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
