Summary
The Office Administrator leads the overall operations and success of the Los Angeles office. This role oversees office administration, human resources, staff performance and recruiting, facilities, technology coordination, and workflow management, while partnering closely with attorneys and firm leadership to ensure seamless support and alignment with firm standards and culture. The ideal candidate is a calm, credible leader who manages diverse teams, anticipates attorney needs, resolves issues proactively, and drives collaboration across departments and offices. This position requires full‑time, in‑office presence.
Key Responsibilities
Office Leadership & Operations
- Manage day‑to‑day office operations and maintain a high‑performing, positive workplace environment
- Proactively anticipate attorney and staff needs, balance workloads, and ensure consistent, high‑quality support
- Serve as the primary liaison with attorneys, staff, vendors, building management, and firm leadership
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures, and local regulations
Talent Management
- Lead local non‑attorney recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
- Oversee staff evaluations, compensation planning, training, and professional development
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all personnel matters
Facilities, Technology & Finance
- Manage facilities, space planning, vendors, and office projects
- Coordinate local implementation of firm technology initiatives and support evolving automation tools
- Prepare and manage the office budget and review invoices
Events & Firmwide Collaboration
- Lead planning and execution of recruiting, client, and employee engagement events
- Collaborate with colleagues across offices on firmwide initiatives and operational improvements
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of leadership experience in law firm (strongly preferred) administration or a professional services environment
- Proven experience managing and developing teams
- Prior build-out/construction oversight experience
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
- Experience in a large or complex law firm environment
- Background in business, management, or human resources
- Experience supporting senior leadership and cross‑functional initiatives
