Role summary
EARTHBRAIN is seeking a Smart Construction Specialist to implement digital solutions for the construction industry. This hybrid role, based in South Plainfield, NJ, involves combining construction experience, GNSS/machine-control knowledge, and consulting skills to drive customer adoption of Smart Construction technologies on jobsites. Responsibilities include developing implementation roadmaps, delivering hands-on training and coaching, and solving practical jobsite problems. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction experience and hands-on knowledge of GNSS/machine-control technology. Preferred qualifications include field leadership experience and familiarity with construction technology platforms.
EARTHBRAIN builds technology and services that connect construction equipment, jobsites, and digital data to improve safety and productivity. Born from Komatsu and established in 2021, we develop and deliver digital solutions for the construction industry.
The Smart Construction Specialist (SCS) is a field-based solution implementation and customer adoption role within our DxP business. You will help contractors understand the full value of Smart Construction, build an implementation roadmap with them, and turn that roadmap into sustained jobsite practice.
Why this role is different
This is not a traditional product support or classroom training role. You will combine construction experience, GNSS/machine-control knowledge, customer consulting, hands-on implementation, and training to change how customers work.
RSS and SCS work as a team. The Rental Solution Specialist (RSS) develops opportunities from the rental channel; the SCS translates those opportunities into a broader Smart Construction adoption plan and helps the customer implement it. Together, the team is accountable for converting customer engagement into DxP business.
What you'll own
- Explain the full Smart Construction solution portfolio and create hands-on opportunities for customers to experience its value.
- Assess customer workflows and, based on agreed priorities, develop a practical rollout and adoption plan.
- Deliver hands-on implementation, training, and coaching at customer jobsites so new workflows become established practice.
- Apply GNSS, machine control, digital construction, and related field knowledge to solve practical jobsite problems.
- Partner with RSS and dealer teams on customer engagements and support opportunities through DxP adoption.
- Capture field learning and contribute to a repeatable implementation model as EARTHBRAIN expands across the Komatsu East territory.
- 5+ years of experience working for a construction contractor or in a closely related field-based construction role.
- Hands-on experience using GNSS/GPS and ICT construction or machine-control technology in real construction operations.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and coach customers through new workflows in a field environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with field personnel, supervisors, customer management, and dealer teams.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
- Experience as a foreman, superintendent, survey lead, grade-control specialist, or other field leadership role.
- Experience training or coaching customers, operators, field crews, or internal teams.
- Experience with drones, surveying, 3D site data, digital twins, or construction technology platforms.
- Familiarity with Komatsu equipment, iMC, or Smart Construction.
- Field-based, with dealer locations serving as a primary operating base.
- Direct travel to customer jobsites and meetings as needed for implementation and training.
- Approximately 25% travel, primarily within the dealer territory or for training.
- Initial focus on establishing the operating model in New Jersey, with opportunities to support broader expansion across the Komatsu East territory.
