Role summary
ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Marketing Pursuits Strategist I to join their team. This role involves strategic thinking and marketing knowledge to create high-quality proposals, shape persuasive client-focused responses, and lead proposal coordination. The Strategist will refine messaging, elevate content, and contribute to proposal innovation. Success requires strong writing, editing, storytelling, communication, and collaboration skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, and CRM/pursuit management systems. A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field is required, with 5 years of experience in proposal, marketing, or business development within the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry preferred.
Responsibilities
The Pursuits Strategist I is a collaborative marketing professional who applies strategic thinking and marketing knowledge to support the development of high-quality proposals. The Strategist contributes to pursuit planning and execution across multiple client types and markets, helping to shape persuasive, client-focused responses. This role leads proposal coordination efforts, elevates messaging, and refines content to align with firm strengths and client goals. The Pursuits Strategist I plays a key role in supporting proposal innovation and effectiveness through content development, coordination, and analysis. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Present a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development and coordination of proposals from kickoff through delivery
- Develops persuasive, client-focused content aligned with firm strengths and client goals
- Partners with project managers and operations staff to refine messaging and differentiators
- Contributes to pursuit planning, capture strategies, and positioning discussions
- Ensures consistency in brand voice, proposal quality, and compliance
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of proposal, marketing, or business development experience in the architecture, engineering and/or construction industry preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field required
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into persuasive content
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, and CRM or pursuit management systems
- Solid understanding of proposal strategy, structure, and compliance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical, operations, and marketing teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
