Job Summary:
Elbit Systems of America (ESA) has an opening for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer. This fully onsite Engineering professional is capable of design and requirements analysis, systems development, modeling and simulation, systems engineering and analysis, and systems test and evaluation, directly related to Cyber Security. This individual will conduct engineering analyses, studies, and provide operational support to ESA clients in regard to cybersecurity processes, policy, and threat mitigation. This individual is versed in cyber security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks, as well as having familiarity and experience in the implementation of cyber security regulations. A Senior Cyber Security Engineer has Information Technology (IT) experience in all aspects of cyber security (Identification, Protection, Detection, Response, and Recovery) with multiple types of IT systems (routers, firewalls, VPN, IDS, IPS, and network servers) involving end-user as well as enterprise-level networks. This individual has experience in the design and implementation of systems that meet cyber security policy and regulations such as NERC CIP v3, NERC CIP v5, NIST 800-82, and IEC-62443. Experience working with SCADA networks in the electric utilities, oil/gas companies, or biopharmaceutical industries is highly desirable. It is expected that this position will require approximately 10-25% travel.
Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assess, synthesize, and document customer technical requirements
  • Connect cybersecurity goals and objectives with a technical solution
  • Evaluate cybersecurity risk in the context of technical feasibility
  • Perform analysis of customer and industry specific requirements and gap analysis of customer systems and procedures.
  • Development of detailed and specific technical recommendations for compliance and security improvements across industry verticals based on changing threats.
  • Develop research and development suggestions based on requirements, market trends, products, and unmet customer requirements.
  • Support business development and marketing activities, including conference presentations, articles, blogs, and customer meetings
  • Regularly interact with the technical staff at ESA customers
  • Advise on technical architecture design, product selection, and detailed implementation planning
  • Develop customized cybersecurity technology solutions for customers
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's goals and objectives

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 10 years of experience.
  • Specialized experience includes: hands-on technical skills and the use of software development methodologies and/or development tools in the execution of projects.

Skills and Abilities:Required:

  • Previous network and cyber experience are required, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the cybersecurity, SCADA, and/or IT field.
  • CISSP or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, NRC, HIPAA, GLBA, and other security standards, regulations, and control frameworks
  • Expert understanding of common network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing/switching protocols)
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in at least two of the following: penetration testing, incident response/forensics, software development, security operations, network security design/implementation, SIEM design/implementation
  • At least 5 years of experience performing software or IT tasks (in conjunction with cybersecurity work) for at least one of the following: electric utilities, oil/natural gas companies, large banks, brokerages, large insurance companies
  • Ability to execute methodically to gather, document, and develop solutions to specific customer requirements
  • A passion for cybersecurity engineering and a willingness to constantly learn more
  • Dedicated to continued professional development
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks in parallel
  • The candidate must have very good technical communication (verbal and written) and time management skills, as well as the ability to visualize/execute essential projects

Desired:

  • Industrial control system protocols (e.g., ModBus, DNP3, ABCIP, ICCP) understanding and experience
  • Industrial control system-specific vulnerability assessment and remediation experience
  • Understanding of Utility and/or Oil and Gas Control systems
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft)
