Role summary

Seeking a passionate and patient-focused Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to provide chair-side clinical support, patient education, and ensure a superior patient experience. Responsibilities include taking X-rays, performing procedures as directed, maintaining sterilization processes, and managing patient treatment plans. Requires Advanced Dental Assistant Certification (EFDA, EDDA, EFODA), radiology certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dental software (Dentrix preferred) is necessary. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential. We are seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant that shares our passion for patient care and education, as well as creating a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chair-side clinical support to Dentists and Hygienists by charting, patient education, operatory set-up and clean-up
  • Deliver a superior patient experience at all phases of their appointment
  • Take and process X-Rays
  • Perform procedures as directed by the Dentist and Hygienist, while maintaining a productive, efficient schedule
  • Enter patient treatment plans and maintain files
  • Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories
  • Educate patients on the importance of their oral health and how it is best maintained

    • Qualifications

  • Advanced Dental Assistant Certification (EFDA, EDDA, EFODA)
  • Radiology certification required to be compliant with the State Dental Board
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and working with a dental software, experience with Dentrix preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnering with all team members to create a great environment
