Laboratory Technician (Asbestos)

Job Details: Job Location: South Pasadena, CA 91030, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $20.00 Hourly, EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) in South Pasadena, CA. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Dust, Water, Soil Utilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager Qualifications: Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25lbs and standing for various lengths of time Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance Available Shifts: Position is full time, Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of South Pasadena, CA are encouraged to apply EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, flexible spending account.
