The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in technical support or integration roles, preferably in K-12 edtech, with hands-on experience with Clever and/or ClassLink, and a solid understanding of K-12 rostering data and SSO concepts. This is a contract, remote position with a compensation of $35-$40 per hour, up to 30 hours per week.

About Epic

Epic is a digital reading platform for kids, giving children instant access to thousands of high-quality books, audiobooks, and learning videos. Teachers and librarians across the country use Epic School Plus to build reading habits in their classrooms. Our mission is to spark curiosity and a lifelong love of reading in every child.

Position Overview

The Integration Specialist is responsible for the successful implementation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of Epic School Plus integrations with third-party platforms, including Clever, ClassLink, and SchoolDay.

The Integration Specialist works directly with school and district technology administrators and collaborates with Partner Success, Customer Experience, Product, Engineering, Sales, and external integration partners to resolve technical issues and improve the overall customer experience.

The ideal candidate combines technical troubleshooting skills with strong communication, organization, and customer service abilities. They can investigate complex data and access issues, explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, and take ownership of issues through resolution.

What you'll do

  • Set up, configure, and launch Clever and ClassLink integrations (rostering and SSO) for new and renewing school and district customers.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for district IT admins during onboarding, from data-sharing approval to first successful sync.

  • Troubleshoot sync and login issues: missing students, duplicate accounts, incorrect class or teacher associations, and SSO errors.

  • Monitor integration health across accounts and proactively fix sync failures before they affect classrooms.

  • Manage the Epic apps in the Clever and ClassLink partner portals, including app settings, data-sharing scopes, and district requests.

  • Partner with Engineering to reproduce bugs, write clear tickets, and test fixes and new integration features.

  • Coach Customer Success, Support, and Sales on how integrations work and how to set expectations with customers.

  • Build and maintain help-center articles, internal runbooks, and setup guides for admins and teachers.

  • Track integration metrics (time to launch, sync error rates, ticket volume) and recommend process improvements.

  • Support back-to-school peaks, when rostering volume is highest.

What you bring

  • 2+ years in a technical support, implementation, or integration role, ideally in K–12 edtech.

  • Hands-on experience administering or supporting Clever and/or ClassLink (rostering, SSO, or both).

  • Solid understanding of K–12 rostering data: students, teachers, sections, schools, and how a student information system (SIS) feeds them.

  • Working knowledge of SSO concepts (OAuth, SAML) and identity providers like Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID.

  • Comfort working with CSVs, spreadsheets, and API responses to diagnose data issues.

  • Clear, patient communication with both non-technical teachers and district IT staff.

  • Strong organization: you can run many district setups in parallel and keep each one moving.

  • Familiarity with student data privacy requirements (FERPA, COPPA, state privacy agreements).

Nice to have

  • Clever or ClassLink certification, or prior work at either company or a district using them.

  • Experience with other rostering standards and tools: OneRoster, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams for Education, or SIS platforms like PowerSchool and Infinite Campus.

  • Basic SQL or scripting (Python, JavaScript) for data checks.

  • Experience with Zendesk, Salesforce, Jira, or similar tools.

  • Background as a teacher, school technology coordinator, or district IT admin.

Compensation:$35–$40perhour,upto30hoursperweek.
