Role summary

We are seeking a hands-on Data Architect to lead our data engineering efforts. This role requires deep technical expertise in building and maintaining data warehouses, specifically using Azure Data Lake and the Medallion Architecture. You will be responsible for identifying gaps, resolving issues, and ensuring the reliability and trustworthiness of our data. The ideal candidate can bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, making sound architectural decisions and communicating them effectively. While you will lead a small team of Data Engineers and a Data Analyst, the focus is on technical contribution rather than pure management.

Data Architect - Hands-On Data Engineering & Architecture

EviSmart | BGC, Taguig | Full-Time, Onsite

We need someone who can make our data trustworthy. And keep it that way.

At EviSmart, we're building AI-powered technology used by dental businesses across 28 countries. Our products are already live, and the data behind them directly affects how our teams operate, how our customers are served, and how our AI performs.

We're looking for a Data Architect who can take ownership of that entire picture.

Not someone who only creates architecture diagrams or delegates the difficult technical work. We need someone who can look at how data moves across our systems, question what isn't working, make better architectural decisions, and personally help implement the solutions.

Someone who can lead engineers, challenge assumptions, and set the example through their own work.

What you'll own

  • Our data from source to consumption. Understand how data is captured, ingested, transformed, stored, and made available to our teams and AI.

  • The reliability of our pipelines. Improve existing ingestion processes, investigate failures, and build monitoring that catches problems before our users do.

  • Our data warehouse architecture. Own data models, schemas, transformations, and the integrity of our Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

  • Data quality at its source. Identify why records are missing, duplicated, inconsistent, or incorrect, and fix the underlying problem instead of repeatedly correcting reports.

  • Integration across systems. Help us establish consistent, reliable information across multiple data sources, including customer records and shared business entities.

  • Technical direction and execution. Lead a small data team, review architectural decisions, challenge weak solutions, and get hands-on when problems need solving.

  • What we're looking for

  • Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining production data pipelines and data warehouses.

  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and debugging production data issues.

  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.

  • Practical understanding of Medallion Architecture, data quality controls, monitoring, and pipeline reliability.

  • Experience making architectural decisions, evaluating trade-offs, and leading technical implementation.

  • Ability to work with business stakeholders, challenge requirements, and translate problems into working technical solutions.

  • Someone comfortable leading others while remaining actively involved in engineering.

  • Experience with Customer 360, Master Data Management, identity resolution, or event-driven data pipelines would be an advantage.

    What makes this role different?

You're not coming in to build a data platform from zero.

We already have systems, pipelines, and an architecture in place. Your challenge is to understand what exists, identify where it falls short, improve it, and take responsibility for its reliability as we continue to grow.

You'll work closely with our technology leadership and a small engineering team, with the opportunity to influence decisions and see the direct impact of your work.

We care less about how impressive your title sounds and more about what you've personally built, the problems you've challenged, and the outcomes you've delivered.

    Interested?

If you're the kind of engineer who enjoys understanding the whole problem, questioning the obvious solution, and getting into the details to make things work better, we'd love to hear from you.

Build reliable data. Lead by example. Own the outcome.
