About the Role

Factory is looking for a Corporate FP&A Lead to own how we plan, measure, and tell the story of our financial performance as we scale through our next phase of hyper-growth. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role on a lean finance team - a true thought partner to leadership on our most consequential financial decisions, and a chance to help build the foundations of the function.

You will own the operating model and the planning and forecasting cadences, partner on board and investor materials, and work directly with leadership, Sales, Engineering, and Accounting to turn ambiguity into decision-ready insight. You will also help build an AI-native finance function, using Factory's own tools to automate the work that traditional FP&A teams do by hand.

What you will do and achieve

  • Own the company's core planning processes - annual operating plan, long-range plan, quarterly forecasts, and monthly performance reviews

  • Own the corporate operating model that underpins planning, scenarios, and strategic decisions

  • Lead monthly business reviews with leadership: report results, explain variances, and surface risks and opportunities

  • Partner on board and investor materials to help shape the narrative of where the business is headed

  • Partner with GTM, Engineering, Operations, and G&A leaders on budgets, headcount, and COGS - bringing a financial perspective to how each org invests

  • Model infrastructure and compute economics, and evaluate vendor commitments, pricing, and capital-allocation tradeoffs

  • Define, track, and report the KPIs that measure topline performance, unit economics, and operational efficiency

  • Partner with Accounting on an accurate, timely close and on budget-vs-actuals - explaining performance, resolving discrepancies, and course-correcting early

  • Build scalable FP&A systems, dashboards, and automated reporting that turn raw data into timely, decision-ready insight

  • Build AI-native workflows for recurring finance analysis - applying Factory's own tooling to cut manual cycles and unlock deeper analytical work

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in corporate FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or consulting

  • Strong technical foundation - three-statement modeling, driver-based modeling, and long-range plans

  • Strong command of annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and monthly and board reporting cadences

  • Experience preparing board and investor materials and translating complex data into clear narratives for executives and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical rigor and the judgment to evaluate opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs in the financials

  • Fluency in SaaS and usage-based financials - gross margin and COGS, opex and headcount planning, and the metrics that matter to a board

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a high-agency, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset in a lean, fast-paced environment

  • Able to form a point of view and bring a clear recommendation - weighing trade-offs and communicating them, not just presenting numbers - with strong executive communication and low ego

  • Energized by AI-assisted workflows and automation - you build automation into your work rather than waiting for someone else to

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

    Nice to have

  • Experience with financial planning and BI tools (e.g. Pigment, Anaplan)

  • Background in AI, ML, or cloud infrastructure economics

  • Experience supporting capital raises or IPO readiness

  • Fluency translating between GAAP and non-GAAP metrics

  • Experience scaling a finance function - and team - through rapid growth

This is an in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco (walking distance to Caltrain)
