This role involves researching state, county, and municipal regulations, preparing and tracking applications, and monitoring compliance. Experience in the construction industry and regulatory research is required, with a legal background being a plus.
About Feazel
Feazel is one of the leading residential and commercial roofing and exterior companies in the region, operating across Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Our crews and teams take pride in doing the job right, and that starts with making sure we’re licensed, permitted, and compliant everywhere we work.
The Role
We’re looking for a Business Licensing Specialist to own contractor licensing and registration across our multi-state footprint. You’ll research requirements at the state, county, and municipal level, keep our licenses current, and make sure our teams have what they need to work without delays. This role is ideal for someone who loves digging into regulations, can work through ambiguity on their own, and takes pride in getting the details exactly right.
What You’ll Do
- Research and interpret state, county, and local licensing, registration, and permit requirements for construction and roofing work
- Prepare, submit, and track license applications, renewals, and registrations across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain an organized tracking system for license status, expiration dates, continuing education, and bonding/insurance requirements
- Monitor regulatory changes and flag anything that affects how or where we operate
- Partner with operations, production, and leadership to support new market entry and project start dates
- Communicate with licensing boards, municipalities, and agencies to resolve issues and answer questions
- Keep accurate records and documentation to support audits and compliance reviews
What You Bring (Required)
- Strong regulatory research skills, with the ability to read and interpret statutes, codes, and agency requirements
- Knowledge of the construction industry, including contractor licensing and permit processes
- Ability to work independently with little direction and solve problems on your own
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage many deadlines at once
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred
- Legal background, such as experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a compliance, regulatory, or law office setting
- Experience with multi-state contractor licensing
- Familiarity with roofing or exterior construction
Why Feazel
- Affordable Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Onsite gym
Feazel is an equal opportunity employer.
