About The Role
We are seeking experienced Senior Platform Software Engineers to join our team supporting a proprietary Air Dominance program based in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is integral to Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division and focuses on the seamless integration of various software products into a unified DevSecOps framework. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, safety-critical systems, leveraging a broad spectrum of skills in software development, automation, and cloud technologies. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and a commitment to continuous learning. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields is required, with extensive experience in software development and DevSecOps practices. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as the role requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance post-start. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada, along with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira. Experience working within defense or aerospace environments, knowledge of networking principles, and familiarity with safety-critical software standards are highly desirable. The candidate should also have mastery of DevSecOps tools such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, GitLab, Terraform, and static code analysis tools, along with excellent communication and mentorship skills.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include developing and maintaining robust software code, integrating various software components into comprehensive systems, and collaborating across teams to resolve complex engineering challenges. The engineer will work closely with internal and external customers to identify technical blockers and support efficient development workflows. Documenting technical roadmaps, plans, and requirements is essential to ensure project milestones are met. Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers in industry best practices is a key aspect of the role. The position also involves executing and documenting research and development projects within an agile environment, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards, and continuously improving software processes and tools. The candidate must be adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
