About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking experienced Senior Platform Software Engineers to join a proprietary Air Dominance program based in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is pivotal in supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) by ensuring the seamless integration of various software products within a comprehensive DevSecOps framework. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technologies, contribute to safety-critical software development, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. Candidates will have the flexibility to focus on specific tasks aligned with their expertise and interests, ranging from automation and tooling to compliance and system integration.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in software development and DevSecOps practices. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields is required, along with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada. Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience working within Agile teams utilizing tools like Jira, and a solid understanding of cloud services, containerization, and automation platforms such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, GitLab, and Terraform. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-start is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in defense or avionics industries, knowledge of networking principles, and familiarity with safety-critical software standards.
Responsibilities
The role involves working collaboratively across teams to address complex engineering problems, developing and maintaining robust code, and integrating software components into fully operational systems. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify and remove technical barriers, ensuring efficient development cycles. Documenting technical roadmaps, plans, and requirements is vital to align project objectives and milestones. Mentorship of junior engineers and participation in agile ceremonies will be expected, alongside executing research and development projects. Additionally, you will support compliance initiatives for safety-critical software and contribute to continuous improvement of DevSecOps tools and processes.
