About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Product Manager (Virtual) to join our Boeing Software Factory PMO teams. This pivotal role involves overseeing program and product management activities within the Boeing Software Factory organization, supporting teams located across various U.S. locations including Berkeley, Missouri, Alexandria, Virginia, or Colorado Springs, Colorado. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of software products, aligning technical initiatives with strategic objectives, and ensuring the seamless delivery of software solutions that meet rigorous quality and security standards. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with no requirement for relocation, and involves engaging with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency in software development processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in program or project management within a technology environment. A strong background in software development lifecycle management, particularly with tools like GitLab, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or an active security clearance within the past 24 months. Additional preferred qualifications include extensive experience in DevSecOps practices, stakeholder engagement, and agile methodologies. Proven skills in automation scripting, data visualization with dashboards, and risk management tools will be highly advantageous. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
The Senior Software Product Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools, dashboards, and pipelines that standardize program and project management practices across the Boeing Software Factory. They will own the technical delivery workflow for cross-functional initiatives, collaborating closely with engineering leaders to plan releases, monitor progress, and resolve blockers. Establishing mechanisms that ensure alignment among development teams through engineering decision records, automated updates, and GitLab workflows is a key part of this role. Additionally, the manager will develop and operate OKR tracking systems, oversee program review workflows, and generate insightful reports to monitor progress and identify risks.
Serving as the primary engineering contact to the PMO and leadership team, the candidate will translate program requirements into technical solutions and actionable tasks. Building and maintaining stakeholder engagement channels such as dashboards, status feeds, and notifications will foster transparency and trust. The role also involves developing risk management tools, including schedule health metrics and dependency maps, to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues. Monitoring delivery metrics such as source lines of code (SLOC) trends, service desk ticket flows, and financial indicators will inform continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will also automate recurring operational tasks through scripting and services, leveraging GitLab’s comprehensive features to optimize workflows and reporting capabilities.
