About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, Missouri. This pivotal role involves leading the deployment, management, and enhancement of our software development infrastructure within the Air Dominance organization for Air Proprietary 1. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient DevSecOps pipelines that support our mission-critical projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative aerospace software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure rapid, reliable, and secure delivery of software products. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will also mentor junior team members, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and software quality across the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Advanced degrees such as a master’s or doctorate are preferred. Candidates must demonstrate at least 8 years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps, with a proven track record of implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, Linux systems, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is highly desirable. A comprehensive understanding of security principles, including the ability to obtain Security+ certification, is advantageous. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, including interim or final Secret Clearance post-start.
Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment, configuration, and management of software development tools such as build servers, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks to ensure seamless integration and delivery processes.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructures on AWS or Azure, along with on-premises environments, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.
  • Establish and sustain development, testing, and production environments, ensuring they are optimized for performance, security, and reliability.
  • Create and enforce best practices and methodologies for provisioning, platform scaling, configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to define, monitor, and achieve service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs), service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Administer and maintain software development tools such as Jira, GitLab, Artifactory, Confluence, and SonarQube, including version upgrades, patches, and integrations.
  • Analyze and refine performance metrics and KPIs to continuously improve software delivery processes and team efficiency.
  • Lead demonstrations, monitor project progress, and communicate status updates effectively to customers and management stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows, reduce cycle times, and increase software quality.
  • Mentor junior team members and development teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous learning in DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Champion innovative solutions to operational challenges, focusing on increasing the frequency and quality of software deployment in complex aerospace systems.
