About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Product Manager (Virtual) to join our Boeing Software Factory PMO teams. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and will support our teams located in Berkeley, Missouri; Alexandria, Virginia; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and other locations. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing programs and products within the Boeing Software Factory organization. Your role will involve overseeing the development and delivery of software tools, dashboards, and pipelines that streamline program management practices across the organization. You will work closely with engineering leaders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, effective execution, and risk mitigation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence software development processes and contribute to Boeing’s innovative projects while enjoying the benefits of remote work.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering or related fields, along with extensive professional experience. A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, with U.S. Citizenship or an active security clearance within the past 24 months. A minimum of 7 years of experience in program or project management is essential, with proven expertise in managing complex projects independently. Additionally, candidates should have at least 7 years of hands-on experience with project management tools and methodologies, including GitLab, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with DevSecOps lifecycle practices for at least 5 years is also required. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and familiarity with Agile methodologies are highly valued. Knowledge of scripting, automation, and data visualization tools will be advantageous for success in this role.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tools, dashboards, and pipelines that standardize program and project management practices across the Boeing Software Factory.
  • Own the technical delivery workflow for cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with engineering leaders to plan releases, monitor progress, and resolve blockers.
  • Implement mechanisms such as engineering decision records, automated updates, and GitLab workflows to ensure high-quality and efficient project execution.
  • Develop and operate OKR tracking systems and program review workflows, including data ingestion, reporting, and risk alerts.
  • Serve as the primary engineering contact for the PMO and leadership teams, translating program requirements into technical solutions and actionable tasks.
  • Create and maintain clear communication channels, dashboards, status feeds, and notifications to foster stakeholder engagement and alignment on objectives.
  • Develop tools for risk management and mitigation, including schedule health metrics, dependency maps, and CI signal monitoring to proactively identify issues.
  • Monitor delivery metrics such as source lines of code trends, service desk ticket flows, and financial indicators; maintain baselines and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Write and maintain scripts and services to automate recurring program management and operational tasks, enhancing efficiency.
  • Utilize GitLab extensively to implement workflows, automation, and reporting, including issues, epics, boards, labels, and CI/CD pipelines.
