Role summary

The Yard Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of a battery storage yard, managing inbound and outbound logistics, inventory, and personnel. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of logistics and safety regulations, and proficiency in WMS and TMS. The manager will ensure efficient and cost-effective operations while maintaining compliance with safety and hazardous materials handling requirements. Fluency in Korean and English is essential for communication with various stakeholders.

Type: Full-Time

Location: Matteson, IL (Location subject to change within the surrounding area.)

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the battery storage yard.
  • Coordinate the pickup of finished battery products from the manufacturing plant.
  • Oversee inbound transportation and the unloading of batteries at the storage yard.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Schedule and oversee outbound trucking services in accordance with LG's sales orders.
  • Ensure timely shipment dispatch in accordance with customer delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, particularly those related to hazardous materials handling.
  • Lead and manage yard personnel to maintain high productivity and operational excellence.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost control.

    • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in yard or warehouse operations, preferably in battery or hazardous materials logistics.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation coordination, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations applicable to battery storage and transportation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and standard office software.
  • Fluency in Korean and English, both verbal and written, is required.

    • Pay

    The base salary range for this role is between $110,000–$130,000 yearly, and your base salary will depend on your experiences, qualifications, and skills.
