Role summary

FP Inc. is seeking a contract Software Engineer with 12 months of duration. The role requires 5+ years of development experience, with a focus on Python and FastAPI. Responsibilities include developing new and existing applications, testing, supporting, and owning developed applications. Essential technical knowledge includes Python, common frameworks/libraries like Dash and pandas, relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle), and API/Web Application development. While not strictly required, knowledge of math/finance and a university education are preferred. The company emphasizes excellent communication and a strong desire to learn, utilizing AI in the screening process.

*An Initial AI Screening will be conducted for this role.*

Contract Duration: 12 months

Daily Responsibilities
:

  • Work closely with business partners to spec out requirements and develop both new and existing applications that provide business value
  • Test, support, and provide ownership of developed applications

What program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role?

  • Python
  • Common frameworks/libraries (Dash, pandas)
  • Relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
  • API and Web Application development

Must-have Skills:

  • 5+ years of development experience (preferably in web development/ full stack)

  • Relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle)- (either 1 of the 2)
  • API and Web Application development

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Math/finance knowledge
  • University education (any degree)
  • FastAPI
  • Common frameworks/libraries (Dash, pandas)- nice to have
  • Soft skills outlined below are just as important as the technology skills important
