Role summary
Fresenius USA Marketing Inc. is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in Waltham, Massachusetts (Remote). This role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of DevOps processes and infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integration and delivery. Key duties include building CI/CD pipelines, developing cloud deployment strategies, automating processes, and providing technical leadership. The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience as a Software DevOps Engineer, along with 5 years of experience in specific DevOps tools and methodologies like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
Lead DevOps Engineer, Fresenius USA Marketing Inc., a Fresenius Medical Care Holdings N.A. company, Waltham, Massachusetts (Remote)
Responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the DevOps processes and infrastructure. Will collaborate closely with software development, operations, security, and quality assurance teams to ensure the seamless integration and delivery of our software products. Specific duties will include:
- Lead efforts to identify and build out necessary software development, QA, and production environments.
- Responsible for creating software deployment strategies that are essential for the successful deployment of software in the cloud environment.
- Develop and implement DevOps strategies, processes, and tools to streamline the software development and delivery lifecycle.
- Develop the operational architecture of mission critical software products and automate the support and deployment processes.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, document, and enforce DevOps standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the software development and deployment process.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement and manage automated monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant security standards and best practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
- Partner with developers to provide operational environment expertise.
- Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, applications, and software.
Requirements:
Position requires either (i) a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a closely related field and 7 years of experience as a Software DevOps Engineer or (ii) a Master’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Software DevOps Engineer. Must also have 5 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with either primary experience requirement above) working with the following:
- Building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD;
- Scripting languages, specifically Python, Shell or PowerShell;
- Containerization and orchestration technologies (either Docker or Kubernetes), the Azure Cloud platform and infrastructure-as-code tools (either Terraform or CloudFormation);
- Configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet or Chef) and monitoring and logging tools (either
Prometheus, Grafana or ELK Stack); and
- Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Position requires 5% domestic and international travel by air.
This is a telecommuting position working from home. May reside anywhere in the United States.
Salary is $178,131 - $187,037 per year for a 40-hour work week.
