Role summary

Frontier Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant & Histotech for their surgical and general dermatology teams in Portland. This role involves assisting providers with procedures, patient education, and performing histotech duties, including frozen section procedures. The ideal candidate must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in Washington State and have experience as a Mohs Histotechnician. A fast-paced environment requires strong organizational and customer service skills. The position offers hybrid work, varied hours, and benefits including health insurance, 401k matching, and PTO.

Position Details:

  • Overview: Do you enjoy assisting providers in procedures, learning all about a specific specialty, and getting to do a variety of tasks in a clinic setting? Join our team as a dermatology Medical Assistant!
  • Job Title: Medical Assistant & Histotech (Surgical team, and General Dermatology)
  • Location: Portland primary location, travel to Gresham/Vancouver or other clinics within district if needed (mileage reimbursed)
  • Typical Schedule: Varied Tuesdays - Fridays, 7:30am - 5:00pm

    • Qualifications:

  • Must have experience as a Mohs Histotechnician in frozen section procedures
  • Must be Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant through the WA State Department of Health
  • Must either be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, a Certified or Registered MA, or a Certified Derm Tech
  • HS Diploma, GED; and 1-3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent
  • Our medical assistants must be comfortable in a fast paced environment; some MA duties include rooming patients, assisting providers in procedures, patient education, and daily patient tasks
