Role summary

This role supports engineering design and development for large-scale product programs, focusing on chassis design. Responsibilities include feasibility investigation, 3-D modeling, layout reviews, 2D drawing creation, part specification and BOM creation, cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection. The engineer will independently analyze and resolve complex problems, negotiate with stakeholders, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience is required, with preferred specializations in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering. Experience with 3-D modeling software like CATIA V5 and a strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) are essential.

Summary:

This role will support engineering design and development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, and conducting layout reviews and 2D drawing creation.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
  • Create part specifications and BOMs.
  • Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
  • Perform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection.
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and/or processes.
  • Identify new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
  • Travel to client sites as required.

    • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or an Associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
  • Experience with 3-D modeling software tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
  • Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
