You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Engineering and Research, to define a new paradigm where AI interactions feel human rather than programmatic. The position requires a strong background in product design, HCI principles, and experience with prototyping tools. You will architect scalable platforms and design systems, solve ambiguous problems, and influence stakeholders to drive innovation in early-stage AI efforts.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience with prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Rive, After Effects, or Cinema 4D).
  • Experience designing multi-modal, screen-based, or 3D spatial interactions.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 12 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience with bi-directional attention systems, spatial interaction, or exhibition design.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, Research) to ship products across multiple platforms.
  • Experience leading design projects and working in complex, highly ambiguous problem spaces.

About the job:

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

We are defining a new paradigm where AI interactions feel intuitively human rather than programmatic. You will collaborate closely with researchers to navigate complex interaction frontiers, balancing aesthetic craft with rigorous Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles. As an Interaction Designer on the team, you will solve ambiguous problems involving screen-based and spatial interactions, shaping how these intuitive experiences are delivered in a variety of contexts.
