Role summary

Google is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its Infrastructure Control Network team. This role is responsible for operating Google's global network reliably and at scale, impacting design and feature enhancements. The engineer will ensure network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring performance, coordinating maintenance, adjusting hardware, and responding to connectivity issues. The position involves continuous innovation with evolving technologies to keep the network reliable for millions of users. The AI and Infrastructure team is at the forefront of Google's innovations, delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale and efficiency.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

Drive the quantifiable analysis of measurements, data, and capacity forecast models to make networks more scalable, efficient, and deliver a predictable user experience.
Evaluate the current inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems, and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
Develop software that improves the performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
Participate in rotating schedules with other team members, including weekends.
