Role summary

An international organization in New York is seeking a remote Technical Writer/Quality Assurance Specialist. The role requires 2+ years of technical writing experience and 3+ years in QA for complex web applications. Key responsibilities include documenting business requirements, producing high-quality technical documentation, and ensuring application quality through functional testing and test automation. Experience with Selenium, API testing, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines is essential. The candidate will work within an agile team and follow a Kanban process, requiring availability for at least 6 hours per day during New York office hours.

Category: IT Services Location: For an international organization in New York, we are urgently looking for a Technical Writer/ Quality Assurance Specialist. Ideally, the applicant should have experience in test automation using Selenium, Api testing, GitLab, Continuous Integration CI, Continuous Delivery/Deployment CD services and other technologies. Candidates need to be able to work +6 hours per day in the normal office hours of New York, US. Example 9AM NY time equals 7:30PM. Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Work with technical lead, business analyst and developers to document the end-to-end traceability of each business requirement in SharePoint that will help to track full history of each software feature developed and accurately assess the impact of changes.
  • Produce and maintain the highest quality documentation; Use-case documents,functional specifications, UI design/wireframe, integration guides, API developer guides,user guides/instructions and tutorials.
  • Ensure that existing guidelines on document branding and accessibility in the UN are followed.
  • Work within an agile team to ensure the quality of complex MEAN applications
  • Develop, modify, and execute functional test scripts and analyze bugs for systems in development
  • Work closely with technical leads, business analysts and developers to recognize the potential for any operational issues, assess risks, and resolve issues proactively
Quality Assurance:
  • All tasks will be assigned in a Kanban type process by the Technical Lead, with progress being tracked in daily team meetings (morning hours EST time zone)
  • Tasks will be considered completed after sign-off by business owner or Technical Lead
Profile: ​
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with technical writing with a proven track record of creating written documentation, requirement documents, use-case diagrams, function specifications and user guides/training materials.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance for complex web application platforms
  • Experience designing, developing, managing and executing test cases, preferably using QA management tools
  • Proven experience with test automation using Selenium and the ability to write script and perform API testing
  • Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
  • English language proficiency (oral and written)
