Role summary
Hark, an AI company focused on creating advanced, personalized intelligence and next-generation hardware, seeks an Industrial Designer to join its design team. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will be responsible for the look, feel, and physical experience of Hark's devices, from concept to production. This role requires a blend of design and engineering skills, involving sketching, modeling, prototyping, and close collaboration with product, mechanical, electrical, and acoustic engineers. You will develop production-ready designs, support CMF development, design physical interaction details, and contribute to the company's hardware design language. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial Design, 3+ years of experience in consumer product hardware that reached production, strong 3D surfacing and rendering skills, and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
About Hark
Hark is an artificial intelligence company building advanced, personalized intelligence. One that is proactive, multimodal, and capable of interacting with the world through speech, text, vision, and persistent memory.
We're pairing that intelligence with next-generation hardware to create a universal interface between humans and machines. While today's AI largely operates through chat boxes and decade-old devices, Hark is focused on what comes next: agentic systems that interact naturally with people and the real world.
To get there, we're developing multimodal models and next-generation AI hardware together - designed from the ground up as a single, unified interface for a new era of intelligent systems.
About the Role
We're hiring an Industrial Designer to join Hark's design team, reporting to our Head of Design. You'll help bring the look, feel, and physical experience of our devices to life, taking concepts from sketch to production within the design direction set by the team. You'll work hands-on every day, sketching, modeling, prototyping, and partnering closely with product design, electrical, and acoustic engineers to make sure what ships matches the design intent.
This role sits where design meets engineering: you'll spend as much time with engineers at the bench and at builds as you do at your desk, turning concepts into products that can actually be made.
