Role summary
WPBF is seeking a proactive Local News Producer in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, to create memorable newscasts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, decisiveness, and clear communication, with strong news judgment and flexibility. Responsibilities include selecting, researching, and writing content for live newscasts, guiding reporters in story production, and coordinating with anchors, reporters, and the production team. This role requires excellent writing, the ability to work under pressure and deadlines, and availability for varied shifts, including nights and weekends. A proven track record in covering major stories, breaking news, and weather is essential.
WPBF, the ABC affiliate in Palm Beach Gardens, FL has an opening for a strong, take-charge Local News Producer who knows how to create memorable newscasts. The right candidate will have a track record of being creative, aggressive, and can make decisions and communicate the plan clearly and concisely. We expect excellent news judgment, flexibility, and a can-do attitude. Candidates must have a proven track record of winning the big story, breaking news and weather. Must be an excellent writer who takes pride in clean scripts with compelling and concise storytelling. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing news environment. Candidates must work fast under deadlines and calm under pressure. Must be willing to work weekends, nights or overnights. You will report to the News Director.
