Role summary
WTAE-TV, an ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Weekend Evening Meteorologist to deliver accurate and compelling weather stories across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include weather data analysis, radar interpretation, on-air presentation during regular broadcasts and severe weather events, and field reporting. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to ad-lib, and experience producing content for TV, radio, and digital channels. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting, a dynamic on-air presence, and experience with television weather systems. Three years of television news experience is preferred. Must be able to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.

We are looking for a meteorologist who knows the science and can tell a relatable weather story. You will be an excellent communicator who has a passion for weather and who can deliver an accurate forecast, keeping our viewers and employees safe, conveying appropriate tone, summarizing complicated information, and staying calm in all situations. You will also have experience producing forecasts for multiple platforms. You will report to the News Director.
