Role summary
HERA is seeking an Industrial Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain software systems for its AI platform in manufacturing and engineering. Responsibilities include developing back-end services, integrating data pipelines, and implementing algorithms for technical drawings and production data. The role requires collaboration with product managers and manufacturing experts to create scalable, reliable software, along with monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to code reviews and documentation. This is a full-time position based in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering on-site or remote work.
The Industrial Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain software systems that power HERA’s AI platform for manufacturing and engineering workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end services, integrating data pipelines, and implementing algorithms that process technical drawings and production data. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers and manufacturing experts to translate requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions. The engineer will monitor and improve system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation. This is a full-time, on-site or remote role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
**Qualifications**
* Mechanical/General Engineer with strong software development fundamentals. Expertise with data structures, system design and heavy engineering principles.
* Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
* Experience building APIs and working with databases, cloud infrastructure, and AI/LLM integrations.
* Ability to design, implement, test, and maintain production-grade software in collaborative engineering environments.
* Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing systems, CAD/technical drawings, or production data is a plus.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Comfort working on-site, partnering with cross-functional teams, and communicating technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
* Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
