A rapidly scaling, multi-state residential construction services platform is seeking a hands-on, growth-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational execution across a distributed, field-based organization. This role is critical for bringing structure, discipline, and scalability to operations, translating strategy into execution, building repeatable processes, and developing a high-performing leadership team. The COO will focus on margin expansion, process standardization, and integrating acquired businesses, with a mandate to build, scale, and optimize. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of senior operations leadership in multi-site, field-based organizations, with direct experience in new single-family residential construction and a proven track record scaling businesses in the $200M+ revenue range.

This is a founder-led organization transitioning into a more scaled, professionally run enterprise, with a clear path toward significant revenue growth over the next 3 - 5 years.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a
hands-on, growth-oriented Chief Operating Officer
to lead operational execution across a distributed, field-based organization.

This role is critical to the company’s next chapter; bringing structure, discipline, and scalability to operations while maintaining the speed and agility that have fueled its success to date.

The COO will serve as the operational backbone of the business, translating strategy into execution, building repeatable processes, and developing a high-performing leadership team. This individual will play a key role in reducing founder dependency while positioning the company for sustained, scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive operational performance across all regions and branch locations
  • Lead margin expansion through improved labor productivity, cost discipline, and execution consistency
  • Build, develop, and hold accountable a team of Regional Managers and field leaders
  • Establish and operationalize KPIs, scorecards, and a rigorous operating cadence
  • Standardize core processes while preserving necessary local market flexibility
  • Lead integration of acquired businesses and develop a repeatable M&A integration playbook
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to align operations with commercial growth objectives
  • Strengthen infrastructure, systems, and processes to support rapid scale

Ideal Profile

- 10+ years of senior operations leadership in multi-site, field-based organizations
- Direct experience in
new single-family residential construction
(required)
- Background in electrical services strongly preferred; HVAC or plumbing experience also relevant
- Proven track record scaling businesses in the $200M+ revenue range
- Strong P&L ownership with the ability to connect operational decisions to financial outcomes
- Experience leading integrations in a buy-and-build or acquisition-driven environment
- Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Credible, hands-on leader who can connect with field teams and drive accountability at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop leaders, and create performance-driven cultures
- Degree not required; progression, impact, and leadership track record matter most
