Role summary

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer with technical leadership experience to design, build, and operate a fault-tolerant integration platform. This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, Elixir (or similar functional/concurrent languages), asynchronous messaging, and system integration patterns. The engineer will establish architectural direction, define integration standards, and deliver production-grade systems. Experience in healthcare, HIPAA Security, and observability is crucial. The position involves mentoring teams and collaborating with senior leadership to ensure reliability and operational excellence in complex, distributed environments.

This role represents senior technical leadership within the engineering organization, focused on operating in complex, distributed environments and ensuring platforms are built with a high standard of correctness, reliability, and operational excellence. The Staff Engineer will partner closely with the CTO and senior engineering leaders to define architectural direction, establish integration patterns and standards, and deliver production-grade systems that safely support future growth and change.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, build, and own a fault-tolerant integration platform that enables asynchronous communication and loose coupling across enterprise systems.
  • Establish and maintain core infrastructure that allows applications and components to be incrementally modernized or replaced without disrupting the broader ecosystem.
  • Develop and steward shared services and libraries that make reliability, observability, and resilience default capabilities across all platforms.
  • Define and enforce clear system boundaries and interface contracts that support long-lived platforms, safe evolution, and continuous change

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related degree.

EXPERIENCE
