Role summary

Seeking a remote, full-time CFO-Lite to guide solo law firm owners in understanding their finances, enhancing profitability, and making informed decisions. This role involves advising clients on financial strategy, analyzing statements, building dashboards, forecasting cash flow, and providing actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting/finance, proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting, and a passion for coaching small business owners toward better financial habits. Experience with client relationships and clear communication of financial data is essential.

Location Requirement: This is a remote position, but we can only hire candidates who reside in AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, LA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WV.

We’re looking for an experienced CFO- Lite to help solo law firm owners understand their numbers, improve profitability, and make smarter financial decisions.

You’ll advise a roster of 40 clients as part of a Fractional Executive Team of CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Controllers.

What You’ll Do

Lead monthly 1:1 financial strategy calls with clients
Analyze financial statements, KPIs, profitability, and cash flow
Build and interpret financial dashboards
Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts and identify risks
Turn financial data into clear, actionable recommendations
Coach clients toward stronger financial habits and accountability

What We’re Looking For

Controller or senior-level accounting/finance experience
Strong financial analysis, forecasting, KPI, and dashboard experience
Proven results improving profitability, cash flow, or expenses
Experience managing teams or client relationships
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financials simply
Small business or entrepreneurial experience strongly preferred
Professional services or law firm experience is a plus

The Details

Remote | Full-Time

Some evening availability and travel required.

Compensation: $110,000 to $145,000 total annual compensation, including base pay, roster-based earnings, additional projects, and projected bonuses.
