Role summary

The Category Procurement Manager – Wood & Shutters is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for wood, shutters, and related finished goods categories. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost savings, supplier performance, supply continuity, and operational excellence. Success contributes to annual productivity targets and overall business performance. Key responsibilities include leading sourcing events, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and analyzing procurement data within a manufacturing environment. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of progressive sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably with direct material categories in manufacturing.

Category Procurement Manager – Wood & Shutters

Position Overview

The Category Procurement Manager – Wood & Shutters is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for wood, shutters, and related finished goods categories across Hunter Douglas businesses. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost savings, supplier performance, supply continuity, and operational excellence while supporting business growth objectives. Success in this position directly contributes to annual productivity targets, strategic procurement initiatives, and overall business performance.

What you'll do

Develop and execute global category strategies for wood, shutters, and related finished goods to support business objectives and long-term growth.

Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by providing procurement expertise, market intelligence, and strategic sourcing recommendations.

Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including requirements gathering, market analysis, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier onboarding.

Deliver year-over-year cost savings, payment term improvements, and other value-added contributions that positively impact business results.

Analyze spend data and procurement metrics to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve sourcing effectiveness.

Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including conducting supplier business reviews and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, service levels, compliance standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Engineering, PMO, and R&D teams to support manufacturing and business requirements.

Who you are

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5-7 years of progressive sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.

Experience managing direct material categories within a manufacturing environment.

Strong contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing experience.

Experience working with wood, plastics, finished goods, manufacturing, or engineering-related categories preferred.

Working knowledge of SAP, ERP, and MRP systems within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data for decision-making.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in cross-functional teams, and travel up to 25%.
