Role summary

IEM is seeking a Materials Coordinator for their Surrey, BC location. This role involves performing kanban checks, picking and delivering materials, monitoring inventory levels, verifying parts, and operating material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience in a warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing environment, with strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills. This is a full-time, onsite position with a salary range of $22.50 - $24.00/hr CAD.

Reports To: Materials Manager

Salary Range: $22.50 - $24.00/h

Position Summary: IEM is currently seeking a Materials Coordinator for our Surrey, British Columbia, Canada location and will report into the Materials Manager

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Surrey offices and does not offer remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull raw materials, components, and subassemblies from Supermarket locations according to replenishment requirements and production schedules.
  • Perform accurate inventory transactions within the Infor ERP system to support material movement, inventory accuracy, and material traceability
  • Prepare, load, and stage carts according to PFEP requirements, material presentation standards, and established work instructions.
  • Execute scheduled cart swaps and material deliveries to ensure uninterrupted production support at Point of Use locations.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, locations, and inventory information during replenishment activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain proper material presentation standards including labeling, visual controls, container quantities, organization, and part orientation.
  • Identify and replace missing, outdated, or damaged labels and visual management materials.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory verifications, and inventory investigations as required.
  • Safely transport and handle materials, carts, shelves, bins, and related equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S and company safety standards.
  • Identify and promptly escalate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, equipment issues, or other process abnormalities.
  • Follow established work instructions, material flow processes, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Support departmental service levels, performance expectations, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify parts, quantities, locations, and inventory transactions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of following standardized work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production, supply chain, and warehouse teams.
  • Commitment to safety, 5S principles, and continuous improvement.

    • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must have 6 months of experience using inventory management systems within an ERP. Infor is a plus!
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
