Role summary
IcyBox is seeking a Senior Android Developer to build and own their Android application, focusing on customer browsing, buying, and unboxing experiences. This onsite role in New York City requires 5+ years of Android development experience, expertise in React Native, and proficiency in Rust. Responsibilities include feature development, app performance and stability, API integration, release management, and contributing to Android architecture. Experience with testing, CI, app performance tuning, and a strong UI/UX sense are essential. Preferred qualifications include e-commerce experience, in-app payments, and familiarity with analytics and A/B testing.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Android Developer to build and own the IcyBox Android app. You’ll shape how customers browse, buy and open their boxes, and help make the unboxing moment feel as exciting on screen as it does in person. This role is in person at our New York City office, five days a week.
What You’ll Do
Build and ship new features in our Android React Native app
Own app performance, stability and crash rate
Write clean, tested Rust and React Native and review your teammates’ code
Work with product and design to turn ideas into polished experiences
Integrate with our backend APIs, payments and push notifications
Manage releases to the Google Play Store
Help set Android architecture and best practices as the team grows
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of Android development, with apps shipped to the Google Play Store
Expert in Android development and React Native
Experience with testing, CI and app performance tuning
A sharp eye for UI, animation and user experience
Comfortable owning features end to end
Nice to Have
E-commerce or consumer app experience
In-app payments and Google Pay
Building animations and reveal moments that delight users
Analytics, A/B testing and feature flags
iOS or cross-platform experience
Experience using AI coding tools effectively in your daily workflow
Startup or high-growth company experience
