Senior DevOps Engineer (NA West Coast) – ADAS Platform

Primary: Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite preferred)

Duration: Contract role (renewable every 3 months)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Arene DevOps Platform team supporting ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

This is a contingent worker role (not direct employment), focused on providing follow-the-sun DevOps support for production systems during North America West Coast hours, ensuring 24/7 SLA coverage in collaboration with Japan-based teams.

Work closely with Japan + North America distributed teams

Support mission-critical ADAS production systems

Own incident response, uptime, and platform reliability

Opportunity to work in automotive / autonomous systems domain (plus)

🎯 Responsibilities

🔧 Incident Response & Operations

Provide SEV-1 / SEV-2 incident support during PST hours

Ensure 2-hour SLA response compliance

Act as primary DevOps contact during Japan off-hours

☁️ Infrastructure & Cloud

Manage and deploy AWS infrastructure:

S3, Aurora/Postgres, IAM, Route 53, WAF, CloudFront

Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

Maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments

🚀 CI/CD & Automation

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

Automate manual workflows to improve efficiency

Support deployments across:

Dev / Stage / Pre-prod / Production

📊 Monitoring & Reliability

Monitor systems using:

Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, ELK

Maintain 99.5% uptime SLA

Troubleshoot performance and infrastructure issues

🔐 Security & Compliance

Implement DevSecOps best practices

Ensure secure deployments and compliance adherence

Maintain IaC-only provisioning standards

📚 Documentation & Collaboration

Create and maintain:

Runbooks

SOPs

Architecture and operational docs

Collaborate across JP/NA teams and stakeholders

🧠 Required Skills (MUST HAVE)

5+ years of DevOps / SRE experience

Strong experience with:

AWS cloud services

Terraform (IaC)

Docker & Kubernetes

CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)

Monitoring tools:

Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, ELK

Experience with:

Incident management / on-call support

Follow-the-sun model

Strong communication skills across global teams
