Role summary

IP Corporation, a stable, family-owned chemical manufacturer with over 70 years of history, seeks a Customer Account Specialist. This role is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts, processing orders accurately, and resolving customer issues with a high degree of independence. The specialist will serve as the primary point of contact, coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Production), provide product information, and build strong customer relationships. The position requires a High School Diploma/GED, 2-4 years of customer service/account management experience (preferably in manufacturing/industrial distribution), and proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM systems. An Associate's degree and strong communication, detail-orientation, and problem-solving skills are preferred.

What is a Customer Service Representative II?

The Customer Service Representative II is responsible for managing customer interactions, order processing, and issue resolution with a higher level of independence and complexity. This role supports customer accounts, coordinates closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations, and ensures accurate and timely execution of orders. The position plays a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to overall service performance.

What You Can Expect to Do as a Customer Account Specialist :

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate customer data and account details in CRM systems.
  • Enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system with high accuracy.
  • Monitor order status and proactively communicate any changes, delays, or concerns.
  • Coordinate with logistics, production, and sales teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Provide customers with product information, pricing, availability, and lead times.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns independently when possible and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met while reflecting IP Corporation’s values and service standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Understand customer needs and work internally to ensure those needs are met.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to improve service delivery and process efficiency

What We Are Looking For in a Customer Account Specialist :

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of customer service and/or account management experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial distribution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; extensive experience with ERP and CRM systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to work across departments.
