Role summary

The Human Resources Specialist supports daily HR operations and employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compliance. This role ensures accurate HR transactions, maintains employee records, and assists employees and managers with HR policies and programs. The Specialist partners with HR Supervisor and other teams to support workforce initiatives and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

# Job Description

The Human Resources Specialist supports the day-to-day administration of Human Resources operations and provides assistance to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs. This role is responsible for supporting employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, employee relations administration, benefits assistance, compliance support, and HR record maintenance. The HR Specialist partners closely with the HR Supervisor to ensure accurate processing, consistent employee support, and timely completion of HR-related activities across assigned business units or regions.

# Responsibilities

• Support daily HR operations and respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including completion of new hire documentation, orientation scheduling, and system updates

  • Process employee status changes such as transfers, promotions, compensation updates, and terminations accurately and timely
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems in compliance with company policies and legal recordkeeping requirements
  • Assist employees with questions related to benefits, leave administration, payroll coordination, and HR processes
  • Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting concerns, and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Assist with investigations related to attendance, policy violations, workplace concerns, and employee complaints
  • Prepare reports, audits, and documentation related to compliance, personnel files, and HR metrics
  • Partner with recruiting, payroll, operations, and safety teams to support workforce initiatives and operational needs
  • Support HR training initiatives, employee engagement activities, and company-wide HR programs
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and company information
  • Perform administrative and operational HR tasks in accordance with established procedures and timelines

Key Measures / Key Performance Indicators:

  • Timeliness and accuracy of HR transactions and employee updates
  • Completion and compliance of onboarding and offboarding documentation
  • Responsiveness to employee and manager inquiries
  • Accuracy and organization of employee records and HR systems
  • Compliance with company policies and employment regulations
  • Timely escalation and follow-up of employee relations matters
  • Audit readiness and documentation accuracy

# Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred

Experience:

  • 2–4 years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, or HR administration functions
  • Experience supporting multi-location or field-based operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

Exposure:

  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, FUSE) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to confidential employee information and sensitive workplace matters
  • Collaboration with payroll, recruiting, operations, and safety teams

  • Mobility for office navigation and business site visits
