Role summary

JerseySTEM is seeking a pro-bono Sourcer/Screener to support their mission of improving STEM education access for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. This volunteer role involves screening candidates on the Catchafire platform, inviting new candidates, and following up with retained applicants. The position requires a genuine interest in closing the STEM education gender gap, strong written communication skills, and organizational abilities. Experience with volunteering or non-profit environments is preferred. Access to a computer and internet is necessary. This is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week.

All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro-bono Unpaid volunteer position.

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

Responsibilities

Attend virtual team meetings weekly on Tuesdays 8pm
Login to Catcahfire on a daily basis
Screen applying candidates within 24 hours
Invite other candidates to apply.
Follow up with retained candidates
Send DNQ to those wo are not retained
3-5 hours/week; Minimum 6 months commitment.

Qualifications

Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
Intereste in learning Catcahfire, iCIMS and ither HR software
Organized, detail-oriented, and can think big picture
Excellence communication skills (written)
Experience with volunteering, start-up/ non-profit environment is preferred
