This role supports a strategic financial initiative within Investments & Capital Markets, requiring a blend of project management, financial reporting, data analysis, reconciliation, and testing. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, advanced SQL and Excel skills, a financial background, and experience with large datasets and relational databases. Position Overview:
We are seeking an
experienced Senior Financial/Data Analyst
to support a large strategic financial initiative within the Investments & Capital Markets division. The role involves a mix of
project management
,
financial reporting
, data analysis, reconciliations, and testing, along with coordination across business and IT teams.
Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced SQL expertise
  • Ability to read and understand Python code
  • Strong Excel (advanced level) skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Financial background (accounting/finance/reporting)
  • Experience with large datasets and relational databases
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Mortgage/Capital Markets domain experience
  • Experience with financial systems or accounting applications
  • Knowledge of general ledger/subledger data
  • JIRA experience
  • Data automation and validation experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex data analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Use advanced Excel and SQL for large dataset analysis and validation
  • Gather and document data transformation and financial requirements
  • Support testing (UAT), regression, and reconciliation activities
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation
  • Automate validation and data preparation processes
  • Track development activities using JIRA
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and project issues
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders
  • Support project management activities, including tracking, reporting, and training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Mathematics / Statistics
  • Economics
  • Data Analytics or related field
  • Strong expertise in:
  • SQL querying on complex datasets
  • Advanced Excel (data manipulation, validation, reporting)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Key to Success:

  • Strong Excel-driven data analysis and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • High focus on accuracy, reliability, and timelines
  • Ability to validate data, code, and processes
